For their first free-standing full length release, In'Sect releases "slowly compressing all space until we are touching and folded into ourselves" as another push towards sonic exploration. Following the 96 minute series of releases entitled "The Moth Trilogy," In'Sect follows a complete sonic encapsulation of chance music through the composition of these 3 tracks flowing into a single piece.
Composers and collaborators Matt Wees and Andy Meyer began conceptualization of this record by speculating chance music and rhythm by redefining a compositional idea explored numerous times on the 2016 release, "Night'Crawler," and 2017's "Tree'Borer," where improvisational performances were recorded at separate times, then played back simultaneously. While this was found to be extremely effective vertically, Matt brought the idea of exploding this idea into the horizontal realm, by having two fully composed pieces written and performed in isolation of each other, and then play them back in sequence- one picking up where the previous left off with only enough overlap to justify transition.
Narratively, "compressing all space-" aims to create sonic architecture that continues to articulate a physical space within the sound. It is with the intention of the respective pieces between the composers to articulate differing architecture and structures within themselves, but the overarching idea in the horizontal combination of the pieces is to paint a picture of self-awareness, intimacy, and introspection that supersedes all the previous In'Sect releases, while simultaneously justifying a 'universe' to be explored in future releases.
